Creating value from oil otherwise disposed of as waste
Historical processing activities, sludge from tank bottoms and settling lagoons, drilling rig cuttings and leaks from damaged infrastructure all present environmental problems. Often, the oil that arises from these events is treated as waste requiring disposal.
RSK is developing a new oil recovery from waste service, whereby it will remove the oil and associated contaminated soil, separate them and recover the oil for resale or reuse. The contaminated soil is separated out in the process and, if classed as clean, can be reused. This process will help to resolve environmental issues. Funding for the work can be offset by the value generated from recycling the oil.
We have access to our fully ISO/IEC 17025 accredited, integrated geoenvironmental laboratory in Iraq to carry out testing and classification work to support this service.
