Stage 1 of these enabling works was to construct 2.5 km of berms to contain and enhance the capacity of the existing produced water pit. The new produced water holding area of approximately 350,000 m2 was contained on the 23 May 2014 and the capacity enhancement was completed on 15 July 2014.
We are now building up additional layers so that our berms are 1.4 m high.
At our busiest, we were working 38 tipper trucks, five front-end loaders, three excavators and three sheepsfoot rollers with traffic control personnel, supervisors and management staff.
