The ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation was awarded by the Gulf Cooperation Council Accreditation Centre, an accredited body of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, following a rigorous audit of testing methods and audit controls. The accreditation standard specifies the general requirements for a laboratory to be passed as competent to collect samples and carry out tests using standard, non-standard and laboratory-developed methods. RSK’s laboratory has adopted the UKAS testing methods used in its similarly accredited laboratories in the UK.
The RSK laboratory has been operational since May 2014 and since then has been working for multinational oil and gas companies and leading international consultants that previously relied on the expensive and time-consuming movement of samples to laboratories of Iraq.
The laboratory is staffed by experienced international and Iraqi national specialists who are receiving structured training and development.
You can read more about the Iraq laboratory and its capabilities and the opportunities that RSK sees in Iraq on the ‘Our view’ section of our website.
