Leading the way in innovative, safe digging technology
RSK plans to introduce vacuum excavation to its service offering in Iraq following the technique’s successful employment in Europe and the successful implementation of air lance technology in-country.
Vacuum excavation utilises high-pressure air and/or water to loosen compacted ground so it can be removed easily and safely by hand or using a vacuum hose. This technique can expose known or suspected live services without any risks to human health. Services remain undamaged and can be mapped and avoided accordingly. Vacuum excavation can also be used to create trenches and for larger excavations.
We have used air lance technology to excavate inspection pits at more than 300 boreholes on 22 operational sites for Basrah Gas Company in Iraq. There were no cable strikes or other incidents involving damage to underground services.
